Call (361-825-2572) or e-mail Ross Bernhardt, Artistic Director of the Chorale, to arrange an audition. New member auditions will be held in August 2009, and again in January 2010.
The Chorale consists of people who have a commitment to choral music. Because we perform advanced literature, we do expect that you will have had some successful choral experience in your past. Many of our members sang in high school or college choirs and are drawn to the Chorale for that reason. We welcome the high-quality singer.
Bring a vocal solo to sing; or I will suggest a well-known melody. I am listening for range, timbre, rhythmic accuracy, a clear sense of key. The intention is not to scare you off, but to be sure that you would be comfortable in this group. If you have questions, call 361.825.2572 or email: Ross.Bernhardt@tamucc.edu.
We rehearse Tuesday evenings, 7:30 - 9:30 with a short break. Please be prompt and regular in attendance. The Chorale Season currently consists of 4 performances: 2 in the fall semester, and 2 in the spring semester. There are occasional extra rehearsals, generally one just prior to performance.
